Find a target
Allow location access, choose the Moon, Sun or a planet in the bottom row and point your iPhone toward the direction indicated by the arrow. Move the phone slowly and follow the guide until the target is aligned.
The view uses your compass and motion sensors, not the camera. A target below the horizon cannot be seen from your current position; check its next rise information. Never look directly at the Sun.
Troubleshooting
If the direction is inaccurate, move away from magnets and metal, check location permission and follow any iOS compass calibration prompt. Keep the phone in portrait orientation. Weather information needs a connection and may be unavailable without affecting the local pointing guide. Cloud cover is only visibility context, not a guarantee that an object can be seen.
Location access can be changed in iOS Settings. Read the privacy policy for location, sensor and WeatherKit processing.
